Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Java/RPG Developer to enhance our Operations Application Development team. This role is crucial in developing innovative technology solutions tailored for the transportation sector. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in both Java (JSF) and RPG development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate within a team to design, develop, test, configure, deploy, and maintain technology solutions that align with business requirements and departmental standards for quality, security, and performance.
• Engage with product owners, business analysts, and IT staff to assess end-user requirements.
• Assist users by interpreting complex logic and conveying information in accessible terms.
• Create and maintain documentation for ongoing support of technology solutions.
• Diagnose operational issues and restore normal functionality.
• Ensure continuous operational readiness and participate in scheduled on-call duties.
• Contribute to requirements gathering, story refinement, design, and code review processes.
• Stay informed about new technologies and integrate them into the existing technology stack.
• Lead initiatives for process and technical enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in RPG Development.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in the transportation industry.
• At least 2 years of experience in Java Development, particularly with Java Server Faces.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Advanced expertise in IBMi systems and RPG development.
• Proficient in IBMi legacy data management and DB2 SQL database operations.
• Skilled in integrating IBMi with other platforms.
• Familiar with Java applications on IBM WebSphere.
• Knowledgeable in modern development tools, including Stored Procedures, Restful APIs, JSON, SOAP services, and XML.
• Understanding of source control systems for RPG and Java, such as Azure DevOps, Maven, and GIT.
• Additional duties as assigned.
