Job Overview:

An experienced Powerplant Engineer is sought to engage in the design, development, and execution of powerplant systems for a significant aircraft initiative. The successful candidate will collaborate within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to the advancement of a turbo-propeller aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate the engine, propeller, and associated systems (including cowling, intake, exhaust, ventilation, heat management, mounting, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, starting, control and monitoring, accessories, lubrication, fuel, and drainage) into the Powerplant and the aircraft structure.
  • Ensure that the powerplant integration meets all aircraft specifications and regulatory requirements (technical specifications, certification, qualification, safety, etc.).
  • Assist in defining the necessary substantiation methods for powerplant integration (analysis, testing, safety assessments, drawings, inspections) and execute the related tasks.
  • Coordinate between the powerplant team and other aircraft disciplines (aerodynamics, flight physics, structures, design, systems, testing, certification, and qualification) to streamline integration efforts.
  • Propose, discuss, and finalize the physical and functional interfaces of the Powerplant with other aircraft systems.
  • Ensure thorough development and documentation of integration activities.
  • Provide insights regarding the implications and technical risks associated with the powerplant integration process.
  • Participate in technical audits related to powerplant integration.
  • Evaluate powerplant development, certification, and qualification tests as needed to assess integration and recommend modifications if necessary.
  • Investigate in-service anomalies, incidents, and accidents related to the Powerplant, offering essential support for the continuous airworthiness of operational aircraft fleets.
  • Assess potential customer requests and their implications for the Powerplant, determining compliance and necessary modifications.
  • Define and oversee the integration of applicable Powerplant modifications arising from in-service anomalies or new customer requirements, ensuring adherence to powerplant standards for new aircraft developments, including validation and verification of design modifications against requirements, interface coordination with other aircraft systems, and proper documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent (Master's or similar).
  • Desirable experience in Powerplant Integration activities, ideally covering at least one aircraft development cycle, preferably with turboprop systems. Experience in related fields may be considered as an alternative.
  • Familiarity with the integration tools necessary for Powerplant integration.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
