We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Design Engineer to join our team at Gamesa Electric SA. As a key member of our converter control firmware design team, you will play a crucial role in developing cutting-edge firmware solutions for our wind, solar, and energy storage converters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement firmware for power electronics converter control modules using C language.
  • Develop low-level firmware for peripherals such as I2C, SPI, CAN, and ADC.
  • Analyze requirements documents and create detailed specifications, requirements, and firmware design documents.
  • Verify changes implemented in the firmware and manage software versions using a version control tool.
  • Participate in converter validation to ensure compliance with design requirements in collaboration with the converter design team.
  • Adhere to quality processes through the execution of test procedures.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to support product testing and certifications.
  • Work with other teams to support presales, commissioning, aftersales, and other activities.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in embedded firmware development using C language.
  • Deep knowledge of embedded systems and real-time operating systems.
  • Experience in firmware design for DSPs and microcontrollers.
  • Knowledge of VHDL programming and control engineering basics.
  • Electronic instrumentation skills, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
  • Digital hardware design basics and knowledge of digital signal processing.
  • Experience in analysis, diagnosis, and problem-solving on complex systems and its commissioning.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Proficiency in software tools, including Source Code Control (GitLab).
  • Basic knowledge of power electronic converters and electrical machines.
  • Methodical and practical approach to solving problems.
  • Autonomy and effective communication with coworkers and customers.
  • Teamwork and critical thinking skills.
