Machine Learning Engineer

Kapsch Trafficcom Transportation SA is a leading provider of intelligent transportation systems. As a family-owned company with 130 years of experience, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions that improve traffic safety and efficiency.

About the Role:

  1. We are seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to design and build software services that power our data products, enabling data-driven decisions to improve traffic safety and prediction accuracy.
  2. The successful candidate will develop, train, and test ML models to perform information retrieval and forecast analysis for mobility and traffic data domains.
  3. Using large datasets, the Machine Learning Engineer will develop algorithms capable of learning and making predictions, analyzing use cases of ML algorithms, and applying the outcome to support business decisions.
  4. The ideal candidate will enrich existing ML frameworks and libraries, productize training models, and package them into independent software services.
  5. They will continuously improve deployed models by applying state-of-the-art techniques, code, and data set quality, automating where possible.
  6. The Machine Learning Engineer will contribute to software development in close collaboration with the team.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor/Master Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  2. Work experience in product development of ML related software solutions.
  3. Solid understanding of ML algorithms, proficient in math and statistics.
  4. Proficient experience with programming languages and data tools.
  5. Hands-on with Python, Java, Gitlab/Github, Cloud Computing.
  6. Experience in building up machine learning train and release pipelines.
  7. Analytical mindset and solution-driven personality.
  8. Good oral and written English.
  9. Desirable: knowledge of time series, geo-data, data version control. Experience with Tensorflow, Airflow, Streamlit, Jupyter. Practical knowledge of CI/CD tools.
