Job Title: Shift Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Shift Operations Manager to join our team at Trouw Nutrition. As a Shift Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our production team, ensuring that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with our operating procedures and policies.

• Supervision and Team Management:
  • Organize, plan, and coordinate the activities and work of production staff to ensure that all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Lead, coach, and appraise production staff, and develop the cooperation between employees of the assigned team using relevant HR instruments, services, and procedures.
• Production Scheduling:
  • Ensure effective production management by determining production priorities based on established monthly/weekly production schedules.
  • Makes daily assignments to meet set standards and production schedules, including cleaning and other associated production activities.
  • Ensure most efficient staffing and organization according to production requirements, establish work schedules for operators, and align production activities with planned and unplanned maintenance.
  • Set schedules for incoming raw materials and ingredients to maintain proper inventory levels.
• Quality and HSE Compliance:
  • Ensure the team follows all safety, quality standards, and plant policies, taking disciplinary measures when required and training employees for production aspects.
  • Ensure the team follows all housekeeping schedules to maintain the plant at Nutreco (5S) standards.
  • Interpret specifications and propose actions/judgments about the acceptability of production that is in process.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures to prevent/avoid any incidents.
  • Signal potential hazardous and/or unsafe situations, take appropriate action in case of imminent unsafe situations.
• Reporting:
  • Maintain required production monitoring systems and reports to ensure an adequate insight into production status at all times.
  • Monitor shiftly, daily, and weekly KPIs SQCDME and work in conjunction with the Production Manager to reach set targets (SIM process).
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Contribute actively to continuous improvement efforts in the achievement of target objectives, lead Problem-solving Groups in a structured approach.
• Communication:
  • Communicate with the Plant Manager, Production Manager, and Supply Chain managers/supervisors and other departments to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and other production meetings.
