JOB SUMMARY
The Maintenance Services Representative is responsible for executing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and modifications to Panasonic Avionics Corporation's In-Flight Entertainment Systems on aircraft, adhering to FAA/CAA/EASA/CASA regulations. This role includes troubleshooting and testing of electronic assemblies and units, as well as the removal and replacement of electronic components while installed in the aircraft.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aircraft/IFE Maintenance and Support: Conduct built-in tests (BIT) and manual testing of Panasonic Avionics Corporation IFE systems. Troubleshoot electronic units, cabling, or seat consoles to identify failures down to line replaceable modules, utilizing knowledge of electronic theory. Determine necessary repairs to restore functional acceptance, which may involve the removal and replacement of defective line replaceable modules and/or cabling. Operate a vehicle on airport property and around aircraft. Effectively communicate and interface with customers.
- Administrative/Documentation: Accurately document testing and repairs using computer and bar-coding equipment. Manage and prepare tracking for spare parts inventory. Perform other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisors or upper management.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of relevant industry experience preferred.
- Appropriate academic/technical qualifications and experience to meet regulatory licensing, FAA A&P.
- Ability to pass extensive security and background checks.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Proficient in reading, comprehending, and following instructions, procedures, blueprints, diagrams, and manuals, as well as verbal instructions in English.
- Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of electronics and troubleshooting typically acquired through commercial aviation, military experience, or technical school education, combined with one or two years of related industry experience.
- Ability to thrive in a high-stress, high-pressure environment.
- Capable of determining methods and procedures for new assignments.
- Works on problems of moderate to diverse scope requiring considerable judgment and initiative.
- Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions.
- As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- May require both international and domestic travel, up to 25% of the time, to other line station locations as needed.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and meet airport authority requirements for access and vehicle operation.
- Willingness to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
- Ability to climb and work from ladders or platforms, endure sitting, standing, bending, or twisting for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate under extreme weather conditions and in confined spaces for extended periods.
- Ability to cope with environmental conditions that may include exposure to congestion and varying noise levels.
- Capable of climbing and working from ladders or platforms.
