About the Role

As a Senior Electrical Engineer with Amazon Data Services Spain, S.L., you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing full life-cycle support to our facilities, from design inception to site improvement and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Equipment Submittal Review: Perform thorough reviews of new data center designs and equipment submittals to ensure compliance with industry standards and Amazon's technical requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Investigate and resolve site/equipment failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Operational Support: Provide ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support to ensure seamless data center operations.
  • Conceptual Design and Upgrade: Develop innovative solutions for data center upgrades, improving capacity, availability, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Interface with internal teams, including data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety, to promote standards and consistency in services delivered.
  • Project Management: Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions, and lead engineering audits, including on-site visits, to identify risks and recommend mitigations.
  • Resident Engineer: Act as the resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.
