Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior DSP Engineer to join our team at Thales Group. As a Senior DSP Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing digital communication programs for space applications, including communication between a Rover installed on the Moon and the communications unit or AI techniques applied to Satellite Images Processing.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate customer specifications and perform the flow-down of these requirements to VHDL specifications.
- Generate MATLAB/Simulink models of processing blocks when needed to detail the VHDL requirements.
- Review the Design, Development, and Validation Plan of the FPGA according to the FPGA requirements.
- Participate in C/FW-HW integration tests to ensure correct implementation of the FPGA design.
- Lead unit design reviews with customers in an international environment.
- Apply Artificial Intelligence to Space Applications such as image processing or communications optimization.
- Participate in R&D activities related to new data processing techniques for space applications.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Telecommunication Engineering (MSc) or equivalent, with a firm background in Signal and Systems theory, digital communications, and electronics.
- Experience in designing and developing SDR/digital communication architectures and algorithms.
- Experience in Digital Signal Processing Design for Up/Down conversions, digital filtering, and modulation/demodulation.
- Experience in designing Signal Processing Algorithms for FPGAs or Microprocessors.
- Experience debugging FW-FPGA solutions or C-Microprocessors solutions at the laboratory during HW-FW integration.
- Previous experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms applied to image processing is a plus.
- Knowledge of FPGA, microprocessors, and System on Chip devices.
- Use of test instrumentation: Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Analyzers, etc.
- Proficient in English.
- Spanish knowledge is recommendable.
- Teamwork, improvement spirit, pragmatic, results-oriented, dynamic, accountable, and proactive.
- Ability to solve engineering problems within risk, cost & schedule constraints.
