Property Underwriter

As a Property Underwriter at AXA XL, you will play a crucial role in providing innovative and bespoke underwriting services to our clients. You will be responsible for reviewing submissions, conducting research, and determining the degree of risk for each account. Your analytical thinking and communication skills will enable you to effectively manage relationships with brokers, clients, and internal functions.
Key Responsibilities- Review policy wording, inspection reports, and financial reports to determine the degree of risk for each account.
- Calculate appropriate risk premium by considering the risk costs inherent to the sector.
- Advise, assist, and service clients on insurance and risk management matters to ensure satisfaction and fulfillment of their insurance requirements.
- Develop high-quality relationships with brokers, clients, and internal functions to initiate opportunities for cross-selling and ensure account retention.
- Control the timely implementation of new and renewed accounts according to quality standards.
- Support the business planning and forecasting process, monitoring financial exposure within outlined limits, and monitoring premium income to ensure it remains within set limits.
- Maintain awareness of all claims advised.
- Previous experience in a UW Property role or knowledge of the Insurance/Risk industry and Property risks (fire risks, business continuity, etc.).
- Communication and work in Spanish and English.
- Analytical thinking, performing fact and data-based analyses of situations or issues.
- Understanding of stakeholders' needs and concerns and identifying points of agreement.
- Efficient management of interactions with other parties involved.
- Motivation to grow professionally in a high-expertise team and work environment.
- Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation.
- Work in a team with colleagues of different seniorities and expertise to achieve collective goals.
- Appreciation and proposal of new and creative ideas, taking practical considerations into account.
