We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Specialist to join our team at the VOLKSWAGEN Group. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper execution of corporate accounting related functions, including transactions, entries, reporting, and maintenance, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the VOLKSWAGEN Group Accounting Handbook.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly financial statements for VCI and subsidiaries, as well as consolidated financial statements and related disclosures for submission to HQ, in accordance with IFRS.
- Analyze monthly performance and major variances, and provide reports to HQ for related questions.
- Apply new accounting standards as applicable, and ensure compliance with IFRS and financial reporting principles in a multi-entity environment.
- Develop and maintain financial control procedures for financial reporting under IFRS guidelines, and assist with internal and external audits.
- Reconcile and resolve outstanding issues with other departments, and provide support to the Accounting Sr. Manager with various ad hoc projects.
- 5-7 years of professional experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, and financial services or consumer finance.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance being desirable.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and Word, with advanced knowledge of Excel concepts, including databases, PIVOT tables, filtering data, and mathematical, logical, and statistical functions.
- Knowledge of captive insurance accounting and applicable regulations.
- Proven expertise in accounting for Vehicle Service Contracts and other vehicle protection products.
- Understanding of IFRS and financial reporting principles, including IFRS 17.
- Experience with Deloitte Finevare and Oracle Financials/GL Wand.
