We are seeking an experienced technical leader to join the Last Mile Delivery Service Partner (DSP) Analytics organization as an Business Intelligence Engineering Manager.Key job responsibilitiesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentBuild, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of Business Intelligence Engineers to create and support datasets, metrics, and KPIs aligned with DSP business goals.Recruit top talent and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.Provide guidance, feedback, and performance evaluations to team members, driving their technical development and career success.Develop team members' technical skills in data engineering, distributed systems, and cloud technologies.Technical Strategy & ExecutionPartner with Data Engineers (DEs), Product Management Teams (PMTs), Software Development Managers (SDMs), and technical teams to build relevant data products and solutions.Define and develop data infrastructure, including data pipelines, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes.Drive data governance initiatives including data integrity, metrics definitions, single source of truth, accountability, and documentation.Implement tooling and automation to continuously measure KPIs and empower Delivery Associates (DAs) and DSPs to improve safety, quality, and experience.Stay current with technology trends, methodologies, and tools in AI/Automation, recommending, and implementing technologies that enhance capabilities and efficiencies.Business Partnership & StrategyEstablish strategic partnerships with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Build the team's 1-year plan (1YP) and 3-year plan (3YP) vision and effectively communicate progress on key initiatives.Own and drive roadmap strategy and definitions for data engineering deliverables.Make feature delivery decisions and manage tradeoffs in data product development.Contribute to engineering, technology, and data product strategy decisions at the organizational level.Data Products & Analytics EnablementOversee development of data products including scorecards, incentive systems, dashboards, and visualizations for key metrics and KPIs.Partner with DSP Performance program managers to develop relevant and defensible metrics that drive and track business strategy.Enable self-service analytics capabilities for business users through well-designed data models and documentation.Basic Qualifications7+ years of business intelligence and analytics experience5+ years of delivering results managing a business intelligence or analytics team, including employee development and performance management experienceExperience with SQLExperience with ETLExperience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar toolsExperience with R, Python, Weka, SAS, Matlab or other statistical/machine learning softwareExperience leading and influencing the data strategy of your team or organizationExperience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definitionExperience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a productExperience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a productPreferred Qualifications4+ years of working with very large data warehousing environment experience10+ years of data warehouse technical architectures, data modeling, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments, data structures and hands-on SQL coding experienceMaster's degree in computer science, engineering, analytics, mathematics, statistics, IT or equivalentExperience in Amazon Redshift and other AWS technologiesExperience building large-scale, high-throughput, 24x7 data systemsExperience communicating technical details verbally and in writingExperience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environmentExperience with data orchestration tools (Airflow, Step Functions, or similar)Experience with modern data stack tools and practicesOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
