We are currently recruiting a Senior Engineer with experience in bridges and/or structures design to join our busy and expanding experienced team. The team provides assessment, concept, feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs on a wide range of projects, either as standalone bridge commissions or as part of multidisciplinary major projects.Our internal clients work for private and public sector and include long term Framework Agreements with numerous Local Authorities together with Design and Build commissions for many major Contractors. Our group has an established track record of successfully delivering bridge engineering design for many years, throughout USA, Australia, Canada or Middle East.Here is what you will do:Serve as a bridge (rail/road) or structures lead engineer on mid-size projects supported by EC.Make day‑to‑day decisions for a technical team, integrating resources from different EC offices (Spain, Poland, India, etc.).Provide technical expertise for studies and design efforts and conduct medium‑complex value engineering evaluations, determining alternative designs, materials, construction techniques.Allocate packages of work for EC, elaborate project execution plans and, in combination with internal clients, define the delivery strategy, including composition of design teams.Perform quality‑control reviews of work developed by others. Approve and sign off on work.Account for the results of the team and adherence to agreed budget for a specific package of work.Deliver effective communication with internal clients and team members to clarify expectations and requirements.Train, mentor and evaluate less experienced staff (within the Europe GDC or other GDC).QualificationsProven track record of working on bridges and/or structures designs and collaborating with international and multi‑cultural teams (≥8 years).Experience with international regulations and standards (e.g. AASTHO, AREMA, Aus‑Codes, BS, etc.).Proficiency in engineering calculation software for bridge and structures (preferable Midas Civil, others such as CSiBridge are well considered).Proven commitment to Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.US and/or Australia Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably.Additional InformationAt AECOM, you will have freedom to grow in a world of opportunity.
