This position is contingent upon contract funding.Envíe su solicitud a continuación después de leer todos los detalles y la información de apoyo sobre esta oportunidad de trabajo.OverviewPurpose: Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Computer Network Architect who will provide network and IT design support at San Antonio-Lackland Airforce Base, TX, 78236.ResponsibilitiesPlanning and designing data communication networksPresenting network plans to management staffProviding design of network and prompt IT design, support, and assistance with a variety of day-to-day tasks to support the IT team with security, design and documentation of the networkCollaborates with management staff to determine networking needsOverseeing the network implementation process, including setting schedules and budgetsManaging information and network securityImplementing upgrades to hardware and software as neededPerforming maintenance and repairs to network equipmentKeeping documentation of networks, including drawings, descriptions and configurationsResearching network technologies and staying up to date on advancements in the fieldImplements new server and network hardware and corresponding software solutionsEnsures that all network systems are functioning and communicating properly. Systems include server hardware, server software, firewalls, routers, network switches, VPN devices, cabling (Ethernet and fiber optics), wireless routers, and other related network systemsTracks system’s end of life and specifies replacements when neededDocuments existing systems and formulates comprehensive plans for the implementation of new systemsPerforms regular inventories of existing IT equipment & reports any discrepancy to Program ManagerProvides assistance and guidance to IT Technicians as neededQualificationsMust have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in the field of Network Architecture and DesignMust possess an advanced understanding of networking protocols & proceduresMust possess experience with tier 1 network hardware in a production environmentMust possess advanced understanding of Microsoft OS & applications, including server applications, i.e. Exchange in a production environmentMust have extensive experience with hardware/software troubleshooting and analysisMust demonstrate initiative, the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and determine priorities in a fast-paced environmentMust have excellent people skills; communication and familiarity with a customer support environment are crucialDesired QualificationsIAT Level III Networking certification is preferred.Security RequirementsMust have TS/SCI security clearance.Travel RequirementsOccasional travel- less than 10%If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
