Develop Python‑based tooling to automate data mesh operations such as data labeling, quality metrics, access management, and security best practices.ResponsibilitiesDefine, monitor, and enforce data governance policies.Design, build, and maintain tooling for automated data mesh operations.Deploy and operate services produced by the data governance team.Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members, as appropriate.Advocate and implement strong engineering and organizational practices.QualificationsExceptional academic record from high school and university, or a compelling alternative narrative.Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a relevant alternative path.Proven ability to exceed expectations and achieve outstanding results.Experience with data quality, governance, and security processes and tools.Proficiency in software development with Python and SQL.Professional, written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.Result‑oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments.Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long.Nice‑to‑Have SkillsPerformance engineering and security experience.Experience with Airbyte, Ranger, Superset, Temporal, or Trino.BenefitsDistributed work environment with twice‑yearly in‑person team sprints.Personal learning & development budget of USD 2,000 per year.Annual compensation review.Recognition rewards.Annual holiday leave.Maternity and paternity leave.Employee Assistance Program.Opportunity to travel to new locations to meet colleagues.Priority Pass and travel upgrades for long‑haul company events.About CanonicalCanonical is a pioneering tech firm at the forefront of the global transition to open source.
