Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and customer-oriented Field Service Engineer to provide both onsite and remote service and support for our customers. In this role, you will troubleshoot and maintain Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) instruments, ensuring optimal system performance. You will also collaborate with various teams to enhance service quality and customer experience.

Responsibilities:

- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on NGS sequencing systems following documented procedures.
- Install and decommission NGS sequencing systems at clinical sites in compliance with established protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of service activities.
- Coordinate service tasks with site personnel and ensure smooth operation.
- Provide technical phone support and assistance to customers.
- Assist in resolving technical issues before sequencing system installations.
- Train colleagues and partners on NGS sequencing system maintenance and servicing.
- Develop and update service instruction documentation.
- Recommend design improvements to enhance system reliability, serviceability, and user experience.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Support manufacturing operations as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Handle confidential information: Manage and maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with the organization's policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality: Uphold strict confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information, including personnel matters,legal documents, financial data, contracts, and other proprietary information.

Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Proven experience in servicing electro-mechanical systems; prior experience with medical devices is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Ability to diagnose and repair complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Customer Focus: Outstanding customer service skills with a professional demeanor.
- Software Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Attention to Detail: Ability to strictly follow procedures without deviation.
- Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel
- Knowledge of the local language is mandatory, along with good English skills (both written and verbal).
- Location: Madrid or Barcelona
