The role is based in a fulfillment centre where we handle a rapid turnover of goods, picking, packing and shipping products. As a Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager, you are responsible for the occupational safety department at our Fulfillment centre and lead a team. You work closely with local management to continuously improve local occupational health and safety standards and coordinate the implementation of internal company and legal requirements for occupational health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage on‑site teams and collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure compliance with health and safety laws, guidelines, and company policies
- Use internal reporting tools to analyse data and provide leadership with information to make safety‑related decisions
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety training programmes, ergonomics initiatives, and prevention programmes to improve the safety culture
- Perform risk assessments for new processes and machines, review changes to standardised processes, and update existing risk assessments
- Promote commitment to occupational health and safety measures among management and employees to foster a strong safety culture

A Day in the Life

This is an extremely varied role based at one of our sites, allowing you to directly contribute to many aspects of our safety culture. You will manage health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency. You’ll also manage your team and help them implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements. Your role is instrumental in keeping employees safe, managing their satisfaction, and supervising their wellbeing and productivity. You’ll step in and take ownership of health and safety to foster a culture that revolves around operating safely.

About the Team

Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) plays a crucial role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. Our team works with managers, associates and local governments across our sites, making sure we’re complying with Amazon’s policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe. There is a range of opportunities within the team, from Health and Safety Technicians to Programme Managers. No matter what your role is, you’ll play a part in developing, implementing and upholding our high safety and wellbeing standards. You could work on a variety of projects alongside colleagues from across the business, ranging from equipment and process inspections to assessing processes, building and equipment design.

Compensation

The minimum base pay salary for this position is 16,950 PLN monthly. As a total‑compensation company, Amazon’s package may include further pay components such as a sign‑on payment and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in the USA. Company discretionary, supplementary benefits apply subject to further terms, including pension plans, health insurance, life and disability insurance, business travel insurance, MultiSport card, employee discount code and program (EDC/Extras), commuter benefits where applicable, and the Employee Assistance Program (private and confidential counselling and referral service to support health and well‑being).

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification level in accordance with the European Qualifications Framework (EQF), or higher education in the field or specialization of occupational health and safety (OHS) and at least one year of work experience in OHS services, or completed postgraduate studies in occupational health and safety and at least one year of work experience in OHS services
- Previous experience in team management
- Fluent in English and Polish, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Lean tools, 5S, and Kaizen techniques
- Qualifications or experience in sustainability
- Previous experience in communicating with a wide range of business partners, including colleagues and supervisors
