**About The Role**
As a **Claims and Business Support** team member, you will independently manage a portfolio of workers' compensation claims and develop your own decision-making skills as well as providing important administrative/project support across a diverse range of business activities, while ensuring agreed performance standards and key policies are achieved. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth functioning of different business activities that ultimately support Telstra’s strategic priorities. You thrive on personal responsibility for your own LKPI objectives and providing responsive, considered support and being a key enabler for the teams you collaborate with, purposefully contributing to shared goals.
You will be responsible for end-to-end management of associated claims and rehabilitation administrative duties in accordance with legislative requirements, licensee performance standards and obligations, internal policies, and procedures. Your development will be keenly supported and there is a clear pathway to progress into a more senior role.
**Your key goals in this role will include**:
- Managing the Workers’ Compensation and HMRC hotline and inbox in a timely manner, including proactive resolution of enquires and suggested recommendations and improvements across the processes
- Registering claim and reconsideration requests and a thorough review of claim details with an in-depth understanding of compliance and legislative requirements/guidelines to ensure liability can be assessed appropriately
- Managing claim entitlements for a large cohort of medical expenses only claims with appropriate oversight and adherence to SRC Act.
- Ensuring all administrative support tasks for the incapacity function are performed in accordance with legislative requirements, licence performance standards and obligations, internal policies and procedures;
- Acquiring and maintaining technical proficiency of relevant legislation and other guidelines to support logical and well-reasoned decision-making
- Completing reviews of specific claims for entitlements; identifying and obtaining the required evidence to issue sustainable decisions
- Providing a service experience that is tailored, effective and customer-focused
**To be successful in this role, you must have**:
- Investigational Analytics and Strong Analytical Skills
- Stakeholder management skills
- Extensive experience in Customer Service activities including, but not limited to claims management and administration
- Prior experience in working within an alternative administrative claims/insurance environment.
- Ability to analyse and resolve simple and complex issues defined in established policies and procedures.
- Can effectively communicate and empathize, both in writing and verbally,
- Ability to translate technical analysis into simple written language that can be easily understood by the reader
- Can triage between competing priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Data entry and high attention to detail
- Passionate, independent, and involved in improving overall customer experience in a people-centred organisation
- Is a strong team player who is willing to go above and beyond to support the team in all aspects of the work
