**This role will support the implementation and day-to-day management of the Data Privacy program in **ECEMEA** region in accordance with Baxter Global Privacy Policy and GDPR policy, as well as the GDPR and other local privacy laws. The role will have to identify, address and efficiently resolve any privacy and data protection issues arising from Baxter’s business activities in the EMEA region, working closely with the **Associate General Counsel, EU DPO, HST & CPS Europe/ECEMEA**, and the Senior Counsel, Privacy, MPT, Pharma & Switzerland.**:
**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure proper implementation of the Baxter Privacy Office program in the ECEMEA geographies.
- Provide expert legal advice and counsel to Baxter on privacy matters.
- Partner and interact closely with the business teams in the identification of privacy related issues and support the Privacy Office in the efficient resolution.
- Attend or facilitate the Privacy Office meetings and act as a point of contact for the country Local Privacy Champions (LPCs).
- Identify areas of vulnerability and risk and undertake corrective plans to resolve the issues.
- Prepare presentations and perform trainings, as needed, following the Baxter Privacy Office and functional needs.
- Support internal investigations of allegations of potential data breaches.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments under the supervision of the Associate General Counsel, EU DPO, HST & CPS Europe/ECEMEA, and the Senior Counsel, Privacy, MPT, Pharma & Switzerland.
- Draft and negotiate Data Processing Agreements with Baxter’s vendors and customers.
- Perform due diligence exercises on Baxter’s potential partners from a data protection compliance standpoint.
- Organize any local translation of global templates that will be available for the whole organization and if need be local clearance by the local lawyers.
- Effectively manage the relationship with Bater’s external legal counsels.
- Law Degree from an EU jurisdiction and bar membership.
- 4+ years of professional experience in an international company or in an international law firm in the area of data protection.
- Professional experience in a healthcare data privacy role will be considered as a strong asset.
- Good knowledge of global data privacy and security requirements including GDPR.
- Ability to work independently and perform research in ambiguous legal issues.
- High degree of accountability, professional motivation, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Strong ability to work with and coordinate activities across a large number of individuals across various functional areas and effectively communicate the impact of law and regulation on business operations in a solutions-oriented manner.
- Fluency in English. Ability to work in other EU languages will be considered as a plus.
