**Job Purpose**

Being a Manager of Network Strategy and Alliances in Vueling is working and learning with a top-class team. Vueling was named **Best Airline at the prestigious Routes World 2023** due to its efforts and excellent work in this area.

**Main Accountabilities**

A key part of the job is to lead the annual size & shape cycle, which defines the base portfolio and aircraft allocation by the base as a key starting point for the seasonal planning exercise. As part of this, your recommendations will drive the resource planning across the company to deliver the annual plan, and you will be responsible for tracking alignment with these plans.

**Main Responsibilities - Tasks**
- **Network Strategy** - Define and embody our Network strategy, and the key elements of it: strategic framework, base plans, competitive strategies, etc - these must be aligned with the Company’s priorities. Be accountable for this clearly defined strategy, which is known by relevant teams and allows all company actions to be consistent with the strategy at all levels.
- **Business Plan and Financial Plan** - Provide the capacity input for the Business Plan and the Financial Plan according to the agreed parameters. Work with Strategy and Finance to articulate a narrative that is attractive and consistent with current conditions to achieve sign-off by high-level management. Be accountable for a Capacity plan for both the Business Plan and the Financial Plan.
- **Annual Capacity Plan** - Present and recommend to the Management Committee a size and shape (base portfolio and aircraft by base). Define capacity plans at a route level for the next three years, aligned with our Network Strategy and with a clear strategic intent by route. Be accountable to ensure that we have a capacity plan agreed upon at the Management Committee that the company takes as a planning target for the season, has the necessary resources to deliver it, and coordinates mitigation actions otherwise. Align and socialize the capacity plans with other departments, mainly crew, fleet, and operations planning.
- **Profitability monitoring (as well as other key KPIs) across networks, bases, markets and routes.** Be accountable for regularly reviewing profitability to maintain an up-to-date understanding of risks and opportunities.
- **Team management** - Lead the Network Strategy & Alliances team, managing their workload to deliver departmental objectives. Coaching its members and promoting their development. Be accountable for managing three direct reports with high engagement that have strong delivery and clear development and succession plans. Be accountable for guidance for the Network Planning team to then implement into the schedule.
- **Alliances **- Identify and negotiate strategic partnerships with other airlines or alliance members to expand route offerings and enhance network connectivity. Be accountable for defining the list of airline partners and the roadmap to new partners. Hold relationships and negotiations, which includes represent the Network team at route planning events, especially in the absence of the Network Director.
- Take on (or, at the very minimum, be involved with) **ad-hoc strategic projects **in the space of M&A, remedy slot processes, etc.

**Main Relationships**

Strategy, Finance, Scheduling, Slots, Ops Planning, Crew Planning and Fleet Planning.

**Education**
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, aviation management, or related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.

**Experience**
- 3-5 years of experience as an analyst in Strategy or Network planning at an airline.

**Languages**
- Proficiency in English.
- Spanish will be valued.
