**Job Title: Purchaser of Chinese Goods**

**Job Summary**:
As a Purchaser of Chinese Goods, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring a wide range of products from suppliers based in China. Your primary goal will be to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality goods that meet the company's requirements and standards. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in facilitating credit sales from Chinese suppliers, managing payment terms, and ensuring financial transactions are conducted smoothly.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Sourcing and Supplier Management**:

- Identify and qualify suppliers in China that can provide the required goods.
- Establish and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers, ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery.
- Negotiate favorable terms and pricing agreements with suppliers while maintaining a balance between cost and quality.

2. **Product Selection and Evaluation**:

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine product specifications and requirements.
- Conduct thorough evaluations of potential products to ensure they meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Keep abreast of market trends and industry developments to identify new product opportunities.

3. **Order Processing and Logistics**:

- Coordinate the procurement process from order placement to delivery, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Monitor the status of orders and resolve any issues or delays in collaboration with suppliers and logistics partners.
- Optimize shipping methods and costs to minimize expenses and maximize efficiency.

4. **Credit Sales Management**:

- Negotiate and manage credit terms with Chinese suppliers to facilitate credit sales.
- Ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures, including credit checks and risk assessments.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and collections, proactively addressing any payment issues to maintain healthy supplier relationships.

5. **Risk Management and Compliance**:

- Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with sourcing products from China, including quality control, supply chain disruptions, and regulatory compliance.
- Stay informed about import/export regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements that may impact procurement activities.

6. **Data Analysis and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of purchasing activities, including supplier performance, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and inventory optimization.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for management, highlighting key metrics and insights.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with specific experience in sourcing from China.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with import/export regulations, international trade practices, and logistics processes.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and tools for data analysis and reporting.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese (preferred) to facilitate communication with Chinese suppliers. ( Not a compulsion but English is a must)
