A position for Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) turbomachinery research engineer has arisen within Airbus in Getafe (Madrid). The successful applicant will join IPYE2 department, within Airbus Powerplant organization ( _Propulse _).

IPYE2 is a multifunctional team, gathering the huge range of competencies needed to integrate on the Aircraft the engine system that provides non propulsive energy, covering its complete life cycle. This comprises from Research and new Technologies, passing through product development, qualification and certification, to in-service engineering support and continuous development.

The job, as an integrator of the system in the Aircraft, requires technical knowledge on different disciplines (Fuel, Thermal, Vibration, Pneumatic, Engine Performances,), good project management and communication skills for interfacing with numerous Airbus departments (Design offices responsible of interfaced A/C systems, Program, Production, Maintainability, Procurement, Customer Services, Airworthiness ) and leadership for steering of APU manufacturers in the R&T Ecosystem. Having always safety and airworthiness at the top of each and every action, and taking care of our environment at the same time.

The job position will provide you the opportunity to develop and mature the new ideas, technology bricks and systems architectures requested to enhance the APU engines performance and contribute to the Airbus ambition in terms of Zero Emissions and Sustainability.

**Main Responsibilities**
- Define and validate functional requirements and interface requirements for the integration (systems, mechanical, hydro-mechanical, thermal and multiphysics) of the Powerplant System which encompasses Engine and/or Propeller structure, Nacelle and equipments (pump, heat exchanger, valve, tank, pipe, etc.).
- Contribute to the certification by supporting the delivery of the Powerplant Certification dossier.
- Define set of requirements (System Requirement Document) from product to sub-product addressing electrical, mechanical (installation, loads, speed), thermal, interchangeability, safety and certification.
- Deliver Technical Specification to suppliers of the components.
- Perform Verification and Validation activities to ensure the compliance with the set of the Powerplant requirements. Define, verify and validate test requests (Development Compliance test, operational test requests and test analysis) and documents related to the Qualification process (Qualification Test Plan).
- Coordinate all activities with suppliers of the components (manufacturers of the sub-systems, e.g. engine, propeller, nacelles, equipments, etc.).
- Support Powerplant industrialization, Entry Into Service and In-Service operation.

**Who We Are Looking For - **Required Educational Background and Experience**:

- Mechanical/Aeronautical engineer.
- Strong Autonomy
- Strong communication skills and Team work spirit, willing to be part of a multicultural and international environment.
- Experience on systems or powerplant integration.
- Extensive Project Management experience
- Internal and External Stakeholders Management, including APU suppliers.
- Familiar with A/C Change and Continued Airworthiness processes
- Languages: Negotiation level of English. French or German would be a plus.
