**The position**

As our Head of Medical Affairs Diabetes you will drive the medical strategy, lead the plan execution, and develop scientific expertise and strategic guidance. But you won’t do it aloneyou will lead, manage, and develop an outstading team of 4 Medical Advisors.

Some of your responsibilities will be to:

- Supervise the coordination of the execution of medical affairs strategy with the aim of enabling scientific dialogue with Health Care Professionals, and positioning Novo Nordisk as the preferred partner in diabetes, being part of the brand teams and taking a proper management of Medical budget.
- Ensure the definition, implementation, and execution of robust operational business plans, including KOL and Scientific Societies management, KOL lists, advisory board plans, symposia, publication plan and ISTs, medical educational activities, internal training
- Provide cross-functional medical expertise to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and represent Novo Nordisk Spain at local and global meetings. Stablish solid relationships and smooth collaboration to achieve common business goals.
- Be a true leader: foster the team to take ownership and act boldly, coach and share feedback, understand and identify training needs, ensure team well-being and motivation

**Qualifications**
- You are either a Medical Doctor (preferred) or hold a Master’s or Ph.D. within Human Life Sciences. You have solid experience
- Proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry gained from Medical Affairs. Experience developing Medical Affairs strategy and being a **People Manager** is required.
- Previous experience in diabetes or related areas will be an advantage.
- Deep understanding of the drug life cycle and knowledge of Spanish pharmaceutical regulations.
- Fluent in English and in Spanish.

As a person, you are a strong collaborator and communicator, capable of having deep scientific dialogues with KOLs and other stakeholders both in Spanish and English. You are also a natural leader able to take the team to the next level. Setting direction, being flexible and decision making are also key for this role. Finally, you share our passion and determination to improve patients’ lives.

**About the Department**

You will join the Clinical, Medical & Regulatory (CMR) department of Novo Nordisk Spain. The CMR department includes many passionate colleagues who lead the development of medicines, bringing those to patients and driving change in those disease areas that we work in, by focusing on improving outcomes and reducing health inequalities.

Furthermore, you will have a close collaboration with several departments across de organization at local and international level.
