With no increase in the supply of clinicians, tens of millions of people are stranded today without access to care. There has never been a more critical moment for the work that we're leading at Koa Health. And this is where you come in.

**About the role**:
Our DevOps team has built a world-class platform and set of processes during the last year to support our core infrastructure. We are looking for a talented Tech Lead (TL) around Barcelona (flexible to remote work from other cities in Spain) to lead the multidisciplinary team, with a focus to grow and develop our talent and continue to build an inclusive, high-performing team. You will report to the VP of Engineering, and your work will have three main themes:

- Leading the strategy for the technical operations of Koa's infrastructure, together with the VP of Engineering and the CTO, to ensure it both supports the business' needs from ensuring an efficient and automated development pipeline; to baking in reliability, stability, and resilience into the platform; to creating efficient and cost-effective infrastructure architectures with an eye to FinOps.
- Team performance - you need to understand the implications of the work from an engineering perspective so that you are able to understand development metrics and identify areas for improvement, from pure development and architecture, to where the function intersects with others (such as the pipeline, CI/CD and so forth)
- Supporting your people, helping them on their personal and professional development. Listening, guiding them through hard times and celebrating their successes.

In partnership with the other TLs and senior engineers, you will drive technical initiatives around operations.

**Responsibilities**:
The common responsibilities of this role include:

- Managing distributed architectures in AWS Cloud Computing framework, including EC2, API gateway, IAM, Lambdas, EKS, RDS, Route 53
- Managing common stateful technologies (particularly with postgres)
- Contribute with the team on improving our infrastructure and make it cost effective
- Providing observability to our infrastructure components and our products with Datadog
- Implementing processes to improve the way we work
- Discussing and defining the department quarterly objectives
- Performing line management duties, such as running 1:1 meetings with the DevOps team
- Performing alignment meetings with other stakeholders
- Empowering and motivating the team

**Desired Experience**:

- Significant experience leading a DevOps team with technical leadership and strategy input
- Managing and mentoring a team of engineers, particularly DevOps.
- Academic credentials in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with cloud-based architecture (we use AWS)
- Experience operating microservice environments with Kubernetes, Docker and Helm
- Experience working with Infrastructure As Code services, particularly Terraform
- Experience with observability tools such as Datadog
- Experience with automation, CI and CD systems
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies and frameworks
- Excellent communication skills, fluency in English (Spanish is a plus)
