The Regulatory Compliance Officer is part of the Julius Baer Europe’s Regulatory Compliance (RC) Competence Center, which is active in all regulatory areas outside of the AML / CTF framework, such as MiFID2/MiFIR, PSD2, ESG, EMIR, SRD2 or Market Abuse. The mission of the Competence Center is to support the Senior Management in ensuring compliance with external and internal regulations by actively managing regulatory and reputational risks.

This specific role aims at supporting the RC team mainly (1) for the performance of Compliance controls in the area of regulatory obligations applicable to BJBE (2) to perform periodical and thematic reviews, (3) to provide trainings to key stakeholders and (4) to act as an advisor to the business and the bank in the regulatory area.

**YOUR CHALLENGE**:
**_General/ Compliance Culture _**:

- Complying with the BJBE standards, processes and controls in line with the regulatory framework as well as with the supervisor’s and auditor’s requirements
- Ensuring excellent and evolving knowledge of all European regulations applicable to a banking institution, industry best practice and in-house policies and procedures
- Stay updated on any regulatory changes with relevance to regulatory compliance
- Communicating effectively and efficiently with all the required departments within the Bank, with the local management as well as all other parties
- Regulatory Advisor _
- Provide advice on regulatory compliance matters to the business and the senior management
- Participate in projects addressing new regulatory initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of existing regulatory-driven processes
- Perform impact assessment against new legislations

**_Compliance Programme _**:

- Performing regulatory compliance controls as per the BJBE Compliance control plan and work closely with the business to ensure compliance with our regulatory obligations
- Preparing regular and ad-hoc reports for BJBE Management and Compliance Head Office with regard to the execution of compliance activities and respective outcomes
- Preparing all documents required by Internal and External auditors

**YOUR PROFILE**:
Experience/Knowledge/Skills

- Ability to deep dive and tackle topics “hands on” when required
- Able to communicate with impact as well as build and maintain sound relationships with stakeholders locally and globally
- Strong ability to work solution oriented with a pragmatic approach
- Strong hands-on mentality which allows you to react flexible on ad-hoc requirement

**Professional and Technical**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Legal or Compliance or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in the Financial Sector, preferably with an experience in Private Banking and/or in an internationally reputable consulting, audit or law firm
- Good understanding of European laws and regulations relevant to private banking activity
- Excellent verbal and writing skills in English to prepare clear, concise reports with mínimal supervision; every further foreign language would be an added advantage
- Previous experience with EU legislation applicable to credit institutions (i.e. MiFID2, ESG, Market Abuse, etc) is an asset
