The Vall d'Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution that promotes and develops the research, innovation
and biosanitary teaching of the Vall d’Hebron University Hospital. Through the excellence of our research, we identify and apply

The **Neurodegenerative Diseases Group** is a multidisciplinar research team that collaborates in research activities and the
development of new drugs through participation in clinical trials phases II, III and IV, and clinical research projects to improve
the quality of life of patients with movement disorders.

The research conducted in our group is geared toward elucidating the molecular mechanisms of neuron cell death occurring in
Parkinson's disease (PD), a common neurodegenerative disorder, in order to develop new therapeutic strategies aimed at
blocking neuronal dysfunction/degeneration in this disabling, currently incurable disease.

The **Neurodegenerative Diseases Group **at Vall d'Hebron Hospital wants to incorporate to its team a research **fellow in**
**Movement Disorders** to give support on research tasks.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Education and qualifications**:
**Required: -**
Medical degree.
- Residency in Neurology completed by the Spanish Minister of Health program.
- Good communication skills and fluency in spoken and written English.
- Computer user level (Office package, SAP, etc).
- Organized and methodical person with high motivation and initiative.
- Interest in clinical research in Movement Disorders.

**Preferred: -**

Papers, articles, abstract submissions to national or international congresses or impact factor journals will be highly
evaluated.
- Demonstrated previous experience on clinical assessment on Parkinson’s diseases and dystonias are highly appreciated
(certification on scale such a UPDRS, PDQ-39 are highly appreciated).
- Knowledge of statistical packages such as SPSS and other databases are desirable.

**Experience and knowledge: -**

Experience with SAP management program.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

**Main responsibilities and duties: -**

Participate as sub-investigator in Movement Disorders clinical trials.
- Give support to the clinical team.
- Assist the research team in the tasks necessary for the development of studies.** -**
Manage trials patients’ agendas (treatment, medical procedure, in patient hospitalization).** -**
Write projects in collaboration with the physician and technician teams that might help the improvement of the quality of life

of patient with epilepsy.***

**Labour conditions: -**

40 hours job for specified work and services.** -**
6 month period renewable.
- Gross annual salary according to professional category by VHIR (27.470.48€).
