An opportunity for an **External Communications Manager Military Air Systems **has arisen within **Airbus Defence and Space, **Getafe (Madrid). **You will join an international team of communication professionals responsible for the external communication activities of Airbus Defence and Space.

Your mission will be to position Airbus DS Military Air Systems in the relevant media target groups and the development and support of the Airbus Defence and Space Military Air Systems external communications strategy to support the programme line’s strategic goals and global business.

Implement the Airbus Defence and Space Media strategy by promoting and protecting the external image and products of Airbus Military Air Systems globally, locally in home countries, and in key international markets

As part of integrated Defence and Space function to manage topics with HO Media Relations Airbus Defence and Space and in coordination with Airbus company-wide media relations or other divisions where necessary, as well as with other functions with the communications team of Airbus.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Implementation of media/social media communication plan for Military Air Systems including story creation and telling, specific campaign support.
- Implementation of media/social media plan in coordination with HO Media Relations DS other relevant teams ensuring appropriate texts in English and other languages as required.
- Identification and management of media/social media communication risks and opportunities.
- Crisis management and issue communications externally and coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Definition and distribution of media communication guidelines and Lines-to-Take for Military Air Systems.
- Support to Military Air Systems top management positioning externally (identification of best platforms/actions, preparation of contents and guidelines for interviews, coordination/contribution of/to speeches and presentations in terms of messaging,.)
- Relationship building with all relevant media of importance for Military Air Systems as well as the relevant stakeholder media teams and coordination of external media events with customers, stakeholders and suppliers.
- Representing and promoting Airbus Defence and Space in terms of media at key defence and space industry communication platforms (airshows, journalist and communicators associations/organisations, industry events,...)
- Interacting, coordinating and drum beating all related communication activities in a transversal mindset with the channel owners (internal and external) and content team (audiovisual, editorial)

**SKILLS**:

- You are educated to a degree in communication, Journalistic, or a similar field of study
- You have an holistic and transversal thinking and acting communications professional
- You have experience in the frame of the defence sector and social media channels, with a focus on collaborative and collective ways of working
- You have proven knowledge in project management
- You have a strong interpersonal communication skills
- You have extensive experience in different areas of communication (branding, media relations, content creation, digital media, communication strategy and planning)
- You have a creative and innovative mindset, with strong storytelling, writing and editorial skills
- You have the ability to interface with the different management levels, including the top management, and to work in a very dynamic and fast paced environment
- You are a good team player and have excellent communication skills as you will be working in a dynamic multi-national teams in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment
- You speak Spanish as a native speaker and excellent English (understanding French or German would be a plus)
