**Job Overview**

The British Council School in Madrid is currently seeking to appoint an outstanding, caring and dedicated professional to the position of **French Teacher**for its Secondary School. This position will be a full-time appointment on a temporary contract starting as soon as possible.

The **French Teacher**will work closely with a wide team of professionals composed of teaching staff, senior and middle leaders and Business Services staff, serving the students and their families, teaching students in Key Stage 3, 4 (English National Curriculum) and Key Stage 5 (Bilingual Baccalaureate - BiBac®) as a member of the team and ensuring the highest standards of teaching & learning and pastoral care for our students, supporting them to reach their academic potential and in their development as global citizens.

**Role Purpose**
- To teach students in Key Stage 3, 4 (English National Curriculum) and Key Stage 5 (Bilingual Baccalaureate - BiBac®) as a member of our team ensuring the highest standards of teaching & learning and pastoral care for our students, supporting them to reach their academic potential and in their development as global citizens.

**Accountabilities**
- Set high expectations to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils while promoting progress and strong outcomes.
- Adapt teaching strategies to address the strengths and needs of all pupils and utilize assessments effectively.
- Manage behavior to ensure a positive and safe learning environment.Fulfill professional responsibilities, including duties assigned by the line manager under the National Private Schools Collective Agreement.

**Qualification**

**Essentials**
- Proficient spoken and written in **French language**level minimum **C2**Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) or equivalent).B2 CEFR or equivalent in English.

**Desirables**
- Master's degree in Secondary Education Teacher Training.
- Proficient spoken and written level (minimum C2 CEFR or equivalent) in French language.C2 CEFR or equivalent in English.

**Work Experience**

**Essentials**
- Recently completed teacher training programme in the specific phase applied to, demonstrating relevant experience in a UK, International or Bilingual School.Recent, relevant, professional development in Teaching and Learning.

**Desirables**
- A minimum of 2 years recent and relevant teaching experience within the last 5 years in the Secondary phase in a UK, International or Bilingual School.
- English as a Foreign Language (EFL) / English as Second Language (ESL) teaching experience with children.
- Recent experience in delivery of English National Curriculum.KS3, KS4 and KS5 experience.

**Salary and Benefits**
- **Salary**: Starting with 31,972EUR per annum (Based on qualification and experience).
- **Medical allowance**: The opportunity to belong to a private health insurance company at reduced rates.

**Additional Information**
- **Contract duration**: 3-months contract temporary with the possibility of extension according to school's needs.
