The Socrates Educa International School (Salou), known as Escola Internacional del Camp (EIC) until this summer, is an international school which opened in 2012 and has just completed its 10th year. We have changed our name for one which we will use as the group of schools grows.
The school, located in Salou south of Barcelona in a beautiful Mediterranean environment, has a new building complex with potential to welcome up to 800 students (630 at present), is inclusive and offers a complete education to students aged 1 to 18. This is the first school to run with the Socrates Educa model, an innovative pedagogical system which will soon be implemented in other new schools in Spain and abroad.
Due to unexpected circumstances, we are looking for a Secondary English teacher for an immediate start. We require a teacher who has English as their first language and is able to work in Spain (NIE/TIE).
The teaching includes 4 IB classes (English A, Literature) and some mainstream secondary classes. The teaching is rewarding and enjoyable with responsive students.
We run a wide range of extra curricular activities, community links and projects as well as educational/cultural events and visits and an impressive annual university fair. Our sports, music and cultural events are a strong feature of life in the school.
Fluent in English, able to teach completely in authentic English
Good ICT skills (familiar with Mac/ iPad, knowledge of educational apps)
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor of Education / PGCE / Secondary QTS or equivalent.
**Desirable**:
- Secondary teacher for IB / ESO, ages 12-18
- Knowledge of Spanish
- IB trained and experienced
**Very useful**:
- Knowledge of Catalan
- UCAS / D of E experience
- Familiarity with Spanish ESO curriculum
