Senior Researcher for Forging Project

i2CAT's Digital Social Technologies (DST) department is looking for a new member who understands the world of technology, culture, industry, digital, green and society. In all cases we are looking for someone who is familiar with the Fourth Helix model and its dynamics, who has enough cultural intelligence to work in interdisciplinary environments, and who is aligned with the digital, green and social transition.
He/she must be a person with a focus on human-centred technologies and innovation, with proven experience of working with the parts of Fourth Helix organisations, both separately and as a whole.
This person will work for a European project called FORGING - Forum for Emerging Enabling Technologies in Support to the Digital and Green Transitions through ValueSensitive Innovations.
It is a project that aims to harness the transformative potential and embed value-sensitive considerations, such as environmental and societal impacts, from the early stages of the innovation journey that brings new emerging technologies to the market.
With FORGING, we will propose a new methodology based on a value-sensitive innovation journey that breaks linear innovation trajectories to stimulate new technological visions and pathways that are environmentally and socially aware and human-centred in aligned with the technological framework of Industry 5.0.
**Understanding of the Fourth Helix Model and Its Dynamics**:
- This involves knowledge and comprehension of the Fourth Helix model, which typically includes government, industry, academia, and society as key stakeholders working collaboratively in innovation processes.
**Cultural Intelligence and Interdisciplinary Collaboration**:
**Human-Centered Technologies and Innovation**:
- Proven experience in analyzing, developing and implementing human-centered technologies and innovations. This involves placing a strong emphasis on understanding user needs, preferences, and behaviors to ensure that technological solutions are user-friendly and socially impactful.
**Expertise in Digital, Green, and Social Transitions**:
- Understanding the principles of value-sensitive innovation and the ability to embed considerations of environmental and societal impacts throughout the innovation journey.
**Specifically, tasks will relate to**:
- Social and environmental impact assessment
- Monitoring and evaluation of progress and performance
- Promoting technology acceptance and uptake by industry
- Co-definition of research and market needs
- Co-design and technology emergence
- Testing/validating approaches and ideas
- Addressing environmental and social aspects of technology Interdisciplinary cross-sectoral innovation

La Fundació i2CAT és un centre de recerca i innovació, que impulsa activitats de R+D+i en l'àmbit d'arquitectures, aplicacions i serveis de la Internet avançada. i2CAT és una organització dinàmica que té una àmplia experiència en la realització de projectes de recerca i innovació a nívell nacional i internacional, liderant línies d'investigació en arquitectures de xarxes fixes i mòbils, el 5G, les xarxes de sensors sense fils i tecnologies multimèdia basades en contingut, amb l'objectiu de desenvolupar nous productes, serveis i aplicacions en els camps de la eHealth, SmartCities & Smart Regions, Industria 4.0 i Societat Digital.
