**What will you do daily?**
Role definitions in data teams are a mess. So the best we could do is explain to you what we expect you to work on and what we believe you need to do it successfully.
What you will do isanalyze data (to no one's surprise). Not to satisfy our curiosity, but to look for actionable insights so that Freepik keeps on being the favorite power-up of audiovisual content creators.
This will also give you an amazing seat at the IA revolution in the creativity domain.
**What are we looking for?**
Your main output will be documents, so we expect
- Amazing writing skills (clarity in documents, good structure) that would make E.B. White, William Zinsser, or Barbara Minto proud. Writing well is thinking well.
- You can express yourself in English, particularly in writing, at the B2-C1 level at least.
Those documents will carry data, from different sources. So we also expect
- Confidence in your SQL skills.
- You to to be methodical, well organized, and exhaustivewhen that is needed. That is to say, we also expect a pragmatist who knows when to avoid unnecessary complexity and time waste.
- (Nice to have) You have used digital product analytics tools. We have ContentSquare and Google Analytics.
To tell the story behind that data, you will need to build visualizations, so we would like you to have:
- Basic data visualization skills. When to use bar charts vs line charts, what to do when line charts are a spaghetti of lines when to show information in a single chart vs. multiple, absolute values vs. relative
Charles Wheelan in Naked Statistics says that "Statistics is like a high-caliber weapon: helpful when used correctly and potentially disastrous in the wrong hands". To prevent that data story from behind a sci-fi or horror story, we expect you to:
- Have a solid statistics background. Particularly focusing on descriptive and exploratory analysis (which will be most of the job): how to properly summarize data, how to compare metrics between user segments in a significant wayBut also, modeling relationships between variables, time series forecasting, survival analysis
- To do part of this, we think you need another language. We prefer Python, but we could explore R.
- Be Freepik-curious. If the problem domain doesn't interest you, it will be hard to understand it and do impactful work.
**The Team**
You will be part of the Freepik Data team. Our goal is to get people at Freepik to spend more time discussing what to do about a number on a dashboard than whether that number is right. We are currently 15 people (7 Data Analysts, 7 Data Engineers, 1 Head of Data). We are divided into 4 multidisciplinary squads that work-with Kanban-coordinately with groups of stakeholders with related data domains, to foster our expertise in the problem domain of those stakeholders.
