**The Opportunity**

This role, based in our Dublin HQ, will play a critical part in developing a scalable, flexible and secure platform to serve some of the world's biggest brands in retail.
Working as part of a friendly and highly talented Product organisation you will learn about the problems to solve and gather the data to decide on trade-offs and deliver new functionality to delight millions of shoppers.
The role includes line management of 2 Product Owners working across 4 product teams and reports into a Senior Product Manager. You will also serve as Product Lead on a release train for the Platform teams. The communication skills to ensure understanding across a large group will be key.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Overseeing the platform's design and development. You must work closely with the technical team to ensure the platform's architecture supports scalability, modularity, and security. They should guide the development process, focusing on high-impact features and improvements that enhance the platform's value proposition.
- Promoting the platform within and outside the organization is a crucial part of a Platform Product Manager's role. You must evangelize the platform's benefits to potential users, partners, and developers, driving adoption and fostering a vibrant community around your product. Additionally, you are responsible for demonstrating the value of the platform internally, securing necessary resources and buy-in from the leadership.
- Collaborating with other internal domains, Engineering, Architecture and UX to understand the problems to solve and ideate on platform solutions
- Sharing that understanding across the organization to ensure alignment and gather feedback
- Maintaining the roadmap focussed on outcomes
- Maintaining an excellent understanding of platform services at ESW, working with consuming domains so they can learn about what's available
- Demonstrating the value delivered by the scrum team to the stakeholders across the organisation
- Deliver documentation in support of internal and external process changes, planning and budget preparations.
- Line manager to 2 product owners, working across 4 product teams
**Essential Experience & Behaviours**
- Technical proficiency is a fundamental skill required for this role. A deep understanding of the platform's underlying technology stack, architecture, and system design principles is vital. You should be conversant with APIs, microservices, and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) models.
- Given the cross-functional nature of the role, you must possess strong leadership skills. You need to foster collaboration and orchestrate efforts across diverse teams. Moreover, you should be capable of influencing without authority, persuading stakeholders at all levels, from individual contributors to executives, to align with their vision and strategy.
- Exceptional communication skills are crucial for you. You should be able to convey complex technical concepts in a manner that is accessible to non-technical stakeholders. At the same time, you need to ensure their technical teams are aligned with the platform's business goals. Also, as you often have to balance competing demands and navigate conflicts, negotiation skills are invaluable.
- This role will focus on ensuring the ESW platform delights more shoppers and serves more brands at scale, an understanding of software and how the world's most successful companies are built to scale will be beneficial
**Essential Qualifications**
- Minimum 5 years' experience of working in the product delivery space in an agile / scrum environment - a proven track record of delivery
- Excellent communication skills with understanding of software development principles, able to digest technical material and make the complex simple
- Experience with qualitative data (user feedback, single-use cases) and quantitative data (metrics, analytics)
- Ability to use data analysis tools and APIs
- Experience with shipping and managing developer-facing products for users
- Understanding of the product function in platform product management
- A Bachelor or master's degree in a Computer Science, Engineering or Analytical discipline
- Organized, curious and driven to succeed in a fast-paced environment
- Scrum Certified Product Owner/Manager or SAFe 5 certified would be beneficial
- Passionate about product development with a willingness to introduce change and challenge existing processes and procedure
