**Job Description**:

The role will work in accordance with AECOM’s values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership regarding zero harm, client, people and financial accountabilities. When undertaking tasks on rail related projects, the role will comply with requirements as defined by Rail Safety National Law National Regulations 2012 and the project specific requirements regarding “rail safety work”. Note: you may be required to undertake a formal Competency Assessment and further Rail Safety Training if required under the Contract Conditions.

Responsibilities of this role may include:

- Accountable for the effective delivery of the Systems Engineering elements of projects, i.e. time, quality goals and budget.
- Managing requirements, interfaces, assumptions, risks, issues, system architectures and process development.
- Review designs and technical specifications.
- Planning the delivery and resource requirements of the assigned project.
- Coordination of project designs with other disciplines, including attendance at project meetings.
- Review shop drawings, record changes and communicate directly with suppliers, contracts and client representatives, as required.
- Identify project costs trending out of budget.
- Contribute to the overall team development and growth through strategic inputs.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 4 years of experience with designing and supporting rail systems.
- Issues, risks and assumptions definition and management.
- Understanding of generic system design philosophy and lifecycle from concept through to commissioning.
- Experience of being involved in multi-disciplinary project.
- A high level of interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- 8 years of experience of the design, construction, testing and commissioning of Rail Systems and Equipment with a Transit Authority or Signaling Manufacture.
- Experience in Rail System Design Management.
- Working towards professional registration with an appropriate engineering institution
- Initiative, motivated & self-driven.
- Relationship builder who can communicate at all levels.
- Team Focused.
- Communicates honestly, openly and consistently
- Able to evaluate information quickly, identifying key issues and formulate conclusions based on sound, practical judgement, experience and common sense.
