Urban Campus is looking for an **Accountant** to support the Operations team in its growth in the European coliving market. This is a position based in Madrid which reports directly to the Head of Operations Spain.

As an Accountant in the Real Estate industry, you will be responsible for the bookkeeping, coordinating with property management as well as with auditors, tax advisors and clients and ensuring that the general ledger is complete and accurate. Detailed analyses are performed resulting in managerial reports and financial statements.

You will be dealing with different services (Finance, Property Management, and Design & Construction team) and third parties (landlords, banks, suppliers, tax and legal consultants).

You would be responsible for the following tasks:
Accounting
- Managing all financial matters affecting properties under management
- Reviewing completeness, accuracy and reliability on property
- Ensuring the accuracy of all ledgers, accounts and balance sheets
- Performing **bookkeeping** expenses and rental revenue by accurately entering complete journal data
- Carrying out **bank reconciliations**:

- **Monitoring open receivables**:

- Preparing and reviewing **accounting deliverable** for landlords
- Organizing invoices to be rebilled to vendors and service providers
- Following up on **VAT regulations** in Spain
- Providing day to day accounting support to property management team, mainly in regularization of charges and other operations

Reporting
- Working closely with Property Management & Tech team to issue adequate set of reports
- Preparation of **monthly, quarterly and annual property reporting** for our landlord

Processes
- Participating in **implementation of innovative accounting function** with our Tech team
- Actively seek improvements to the procedures within the department

**Preferred experience**
- You have a Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or similar
- You have +4 years of experience in an accounting firm or real estate industry.
- You have a strong knowledge of Spanish tax rules
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and communication skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Entrepreneurial spirit, in love with new challenges
- Team player, empathic, positive and enthusiastic
- Strong communication skills and complete fluency in Spanish and English. French language is a plus
