**What you’ll do (the role)**
**Summary**
The Community Engagement Manager will be instrumental in delivering Lightsource bp’s engagement strategy at a project level across our Southern European jurisdictions.
The local communities in which we operate are at the core of our business and we believe that meaningful and enduring relationships with these communities is the key to delivering projects and facilitating the clean energy transition. You will be instrumental in the facilitation and maintenance of these relationships.
You will support the Head of Community Engagement in the development of LSbp’s engagement strategy,, with a specific focus on guiding and supporting our southern European markets (Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Spain).. Whilst you will form part of LSbp’s Environmental and Social Planning department, you will also work closely with the Marketing and Communications department and Government Relations team, in addition to collaborating with other teams such as business development, design, construction, asset management and structured finance. The role will comprise a combination of external and internal engagement to ensure alignment across the business.
You will also be part of the wider global community at Lightsource bp, with the opportunity to get involved in company level initiatives that interest you.
**Duties and responsibilities**
- Contribute to the development of LSbp’s strategy and approach to community engagement.
- Identify and assess potential agency partners to support our community engagement work in each country
- Where agency partners are engaged to support with preparing and delivery community engagement strategies, lead on this relationship and ensure they have a clear brief
- Be an advocate for community engagement within the business to ensure understanding and practice of community engagement continues to be embedded across the organization.
- Work with local teams to organise engagement activities and outputs
- Attend community engagement activities as appropriate, to support ;local teams.
- Be across evolving knowledge and industry trends in relation to communication and engagement.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with diverse range of stakeholders, including members of the public, government authorities, industry bodies etc.
- Represent the company by participating in industry conferences, forums, workshops and meetings, involving various third parties including other developers, suppliers, network service providers, regulators and Government authorities.
- Develop strong relationships with internal team members across multiple LSbp regions and departments

**Knowledge**
- Comprehensive knowledge of the community and stakeholder engagement requirements and processes across Southern European region
- Familiarity with regional requirements for project benefit sharing
- Experience & Education
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, and an ability to build relationships and trust with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Commercial acumen and entrepreneurial values.
- Excellent project management skills including the ability to manage complex project issues, managing time, setting priorities and organising the complex logistics of engagement activities and outputs
- Solid understanding of both the underlying principles and practices of community engagement including being able to communicate the importance of community engagement in project delivery
- Knowledge of community engagement strategies across Europe
- Demonstrated record of delivering successful community activities and outputs at a range of scales, including adapting to challenges and managing sensitive projects.
- Experience in ground mount solar PV, wind and/or other renewable energy/infrastructure projects.
