Into the purchasing department we are willing to hire a **Senior Category Buyer**. The overall purpose of the role will be to optimize procurement activity for Applus+IDIADA by leading several purchasing categories, especially Testing Equipment, Instrumentation, Civil Works and other Technical categories collaborating and supporting the Direct Purchasing Team at HQ.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead negotiation process with current suppliers.
- Identify new suppliers.
- Internal contacts: cross functional (finance, quality, legal, production/testing, sales), as well as external contacts mainly with suppliers.
- Works on the purchasing processes optimization.
- Definition and monitoring of KPI's and savings control.
- Deep knowledge of purchase to pay procedure.
- Record of successful purchasing management.
- Able to follow the company policies, laws, regulations and ISO requirements.
- Reporting to the Direct Procurement Coordinator and Supply Chain Head.

**Education**:

- Degree in Engineering or other technical specialties or proven skills in Purchase Management ( or other equivalent vocational training).
- Category Purchasing Management courses and knowledge will be valuated.

**Profile**:

- Proven working experience (3-5 years) as a category buyer or similar roles.
- High teamwork ability will be required.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills will be needed.
- SAP experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects even from the very starting point.
- Ability to manage in a changeable environment.
- Advanced Level of Excel and office automation tools will be required.

Languages:

- Fluent in English, is a must
- Any level of German is an asset
