Junior Researcher in Electrochemical Reduction of

Develop research activities in the field of electrochemical CO2 reduction and synthetic fuel synthesis.
- Successful mentoring of PhD and/or MSc students
- Participate in the development of research projects within the group
- Participate in group meetings and write progress reports on the research lines in which he/she participates.
- Write original scientific articles and/or review articles/protocols or methods to be published in high impact journals.

The challenge presented in this position is to increase the efficiency, reduce the cost, improve the lifetime and reduce the environmental impact of green and synthetic fuels through electrochemical conversion.

**Requisitos**
- Excellent publication record as first author
- Excellent analytical and laboratory work skills
- Sound knowledge of synthesis and characterisation of electrocatalysts (solid phase)
- Experience with diffraction, microscopy and spectroscopic characterisation techniques for structural and microstructural characterisation, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Raman and FT-IR spectroscopy.
- Experience with operating and in-situ spectroscopic techniques (e.g. XAS, XRD, Raman, FT-IR, UV-Vis, etc.)
- Knowledge of energy technologies, including renewables, storage, hydrogen and conversion of energy into fuels.
- Demonstrated participation in at least 1 R&D project.
- Excellent oral and written English language skills
- Commitment to open science in terms of research methods, data and publications
- Experience with industrial collaborations and/or previous experience working in industry
- Pre and/or postdoctoral stays in prestigious institutions outside or within Spain
- At least 3 publications in Scopus-indexed journals. Alternatively, a monographic thesis as well as conference publications may also be considered.
