Laboratory Technician
Group of Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders

Our group is focused on finding new molecular therapeutic targets and biomarkers based on knowledge of the
biology of paediatric tumours, leukemias and hematologic diseases. The experience of the group in recent
years has permitted the identification of new molecular targets that are very close to the clinical phase. In this
stage, we have consolidated collaborations with the biotechnological industry in order to develop small
molecules able to inhibit pro-oncogenic processes such as invasion or proliferation, with the aim of providing
patients with innovative and more specific biological evidence-based therapies. Another line of research is
based on the study of liquid biopsy to develop a system based on next generation sequencing to monitor the
probability of relapses..Furthermore, we have implemented a personalized medicine program to guide the
management of patients based on the molecular alterations of their tumours

Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Laboratory Technician
- Specific/Additional training in animal handling.
- Fluency in Spanish and English.

Desired:
- Specific/Additional training in animal cancer models.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (business level)

Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- At least 3 years of experience working in pediatric cancer models in vitro & in vivo

- Knowledge of cell culture, management and taking care of the lab and in vivo injections (oral, intravenous and
intraperitoneal)
- Ability to team work.

Main responsibilities and duties:
- Coordination and management of lab orders.
- Give support PhD and postdoctoral researchers.
- Organize laboratory databases.
- Preparation of reagents (cell culture media, buffers, etc..)

Labour conditions:
- Full-time/Part-time position: 40h/week.
- Starting date: January 2023.
- Gross annual salary: 18,000-22,000 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay
scale and according to previous experience)
- Contract: Permanent position
