Elopak was founded in Norway in 1957 and is a leading, global supplier of sustainable packaging and filling equipment. We produce cartons for beverages such as milk and juice, as well non-food liquids for instance detergent and soap. The iconic Pure-Pak® carton is a natural choice and aims to leave the customer product unchanged and the world unharmed.

PURPOSE

The Sustainability Manager is responsible for integrating Elopak’s Region Europe South specificities to Central Elopak strategies and initiatives, monitor local legislations/infrastructure/politics that can influence company’s business and promote sustainability values and products both internally and externally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Guarantee business continuity following legislations, infrastructure, EPR and other. Regulatory compliance: Stay updated on environmental regulations and standards in countries where client operates. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and proactively monitor emerging sustainability requirements to drive continuous improvement. (eg. Local ACE; Spain plastic tax) and provide the regional input to relevant Corporate functions (e.g. Input for I&E in developments as member states can put even more demanding legislations than UE)
- Training local teams to increase the sustainability knowledge in all areas specially sales and marketing. Collaborate with various departments to integrate sustainability practices into their operations and processes.
- Monitor and track key sustainability metrics, such as use of renewable materials, use of electric cars, diversity
- Support sales process in environment argumentation of why Pure-Pak is better
- Public Affairs activities with key stakeholders. Lead the interface with all government agencies and departments relating to the company’s responses to questions or statements of position on Sustainability related matters. Monitor proposed regulatory changes in the countries of the region that could impact our operations and suggest appropriate responses to the leadership team.
- Represent Elopak in communication activities (retail meetings, sectorial events, magazines, etc)
- Translate Elopak’s sustainable portfolio values to relevant value elements for specific markets and customers, thus strengthening Elopak’s value proposition and competitive advantage and promote Elopak utmost sustainable portfolio accelerating implementation and Scope 3 targets

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational background in Materials Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology or similar
