The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in three main areas, Malaria and other Infectious Diseases, Child and Maternal Health, and Urban Health, Climate & Non-Communicable Diseases. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.
The overall goal of the Malaria Physiopathology and Genomics group at ISGlobal is to contribute to developing new tools for the control and eventual elimination of malaria through understanding key physiopathological events of malaria in children and pregnant women. To this end, the team combines molecular biology, genomics, immunology, epidemiology, and clinical medicine to study parasite and host factors influencing the clinical outcome of malaria infections.

**What We Are Looking for**:
**The project**:
GenMoz project aims to build and consolidate malaria genomic capacities in Mozambique. The goal is to advance malaria control and eradication through the identification of key drivers of malaria transmission using innovative genomic and analytical tools. The project proposes a participatory approach engaging all parts of the health system to promote a culture of genetic data use and increase the public health impact, while leveraging ongoing activities and existing capacity in Mozambique. We will develop analytical and interpretive genomic capacities at ISGlobal and CISM, an institution with extensive experience in malaria research and a pivotal role in contributing to the development of the Mozambican Ministry of Health's overall health policy, for a collaborative use of next-generation sequencing facilities by the Mozambican National Health Institute (INS) and other Health Institutes in the region (Africa CDC). We aim to integrate genomic intelligence in the NMCP’s strategic and operational activities through a) embedding genetic surveillance on ongoing and future routine control and elimination strategies (e.g. use of routine samples) and b) the integration of genomic surveillance onto the Integrated Malaria Information Storage System (iMISS) for analysing, visualising and generating data for action (e.g. through genetic surveillance dashboards) at the appropriate granularity level. The project is led by the Malaria Physiology & Genomics group at ISGlobal and CISM, in collaboration with the NMCP, the University of California-San Francisco and the Institute of Disease Modelling (USA).

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1.Monitoring**:
a.Prepare and track project indicators and deliverables.
b.Set agendas for team meetings, ensure follow-up of key actions, and write reports/notes/minutes
c.Monitor action steps and ensure timely decision making
d.Compile and complete scientific and financial reports as required by the founders

**2.Project evaluation**:
a.Design project evaluation surveys
b.Conduct routine assessment and reporting of project enablers and barriers
c.Conduct a project impact assessment

**3.Coordination**:
a.Manage communication related to all aspects of the project and act as a key link for internal and external communication.
b.Support dissemination activities to project partners and external stakeholders
c.Organise and manage project documentation on the project shared Google Drive
d.Assist in the organisation of annual consortium meetings and other project events.

**4.Administrative tasks**:
b.Focal point for group travel
c.Expense claims for main PI
d.Assist with hosting key personnel at ISGlobal
e.Purchasing
f.Monitor budgets and contracts

**Skills**:
**1.Esesential**:
a.University degree in health sciences, management, epidemiology, public health, or similar
b.At least 2 years of project management experience
c.Experience in Project evaluation and reporting
d.Experiencing managing BMGF funded projects or other related projectse.Excellent management, project planning and organizational skills
f.Excellent command of the English, Spanish, Catalan languages. Good command of Portuguese is a plus
g.h.Excellent computer skills: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Slack, i.Videoconferences, Polling software
j.A proven track record of successful collaboration with research institutions, governmental bodies, or international health organizations.
k.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey complex research findings effectively to diverse audiences.
