**Category Manager - Herbicides/Insecticides**

From chemical raw materials, through CMOs, logistics partners and external service providers, the fulfillment of the Bayer vision and our divisional sales increasingly depend on it. So, the team who helps select, run, and further develops these supplier relationships plays a crucial role as the value built will enable us to deliver on our mission objectives.

**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for her/his raw materials and services. Ensures adequate assessment of market requirements, market trends and the technology capabilities of suppliers in the process for management decisions.
- Identifies cost optimization opportunities and facilitates implementation.
- Contributes to the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Metrics for the specific sourcing category.
- Develops and negotiates globally managed contracts and supply agreements with suppliers
- Ensures visibility on essential global sourcing initiatives, initiates and drives close communication and alignment with all business partners/ stakeholders
- Manages her/his internal stakeholders
- Evaluates security of supply and mitigates risk
- Supports Make or Buy decisions together with Supply Chain by providing alternative third party options
- Drives implementation of Bayer’s sustainability roadmap in own portfolio, including identification of opportunities for reducing Bayer Greenhouse Gas footprint
- Steer and lead external partners for transactional Procurement activities based on category strategy with a continuous improvement mindset.

**WHO YOU ARE**
- You are a role model for constructive behaviors (Bayer LIFE values), you have strong influencing and engagement skills across cultures and functions with intercultural awareness leading and working in a global and virtual working environment
- You hold a BA/BS in a relevant field and first 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, - such as MBA/MS in a business or technical field and 3-5+ years of experience.
- Strategic approach and conceptualization skills help you paint the big picture
- Your strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills support you in delivering value
- Agile project management as well as strong analytical decision-making skills and creative thought process ability help you navigate in a dynamic business environment
- Your ability to master ambiguity and complexity with a self-empowered working style ensures you stay one step ahead
- High proficiency level in English, both written and spoken is crucial to interact in our worldwide procurement community and supply network
