Investigator in Microbiology (International Health)

Microbiology Research Group

Performance of the activities included in a project for implementation of molecular techniques for
Plasmodium sp and Schistosoma sp detection in blood and urine samples from endemic areas.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Biology Degree
- Official Master related to different aspects of molecular biology.
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, English (business level)

Desired:
- Catalan

Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Development and implementation of molecular techniques.
- Knowledge of diagnostic techniques in tropical medicine.

Main responsibilities and duties:
- Development and implementation of molecular and serological techniques for the diagnosis of malaria and
schistosomiasis.
- Processing of molecular techniques for Plasmodium sp and Schistosoma sp detection
- Management of project documentation
- Database management
- Elaboration of scientific articles

Labour conditions:
- Full-time/Part-time position: 40 h/week.
- Starting date: 13/03/2023
- Gross annual salary: 22.823,22 euros
- Contract: permanent
