**Procurement Category Manager Films & Foils**

**Purpose**:
The purpose of the position is category management and responsibility for procurement and supplier management on a global level in the field of flexible pharmaceutical packaging (blisters, sachets) and the materials required for this (films & foils) for the Consumer Health and the Pharma division. The job holder will be responsible for the delivery of all related materials/products/services of the right quality, on time and at competitive costs within his/her area of responsibility. The job holder manages the supplier selection and ongoing supplier management in his/her area of responsibility. The position holder contributes with strategic initiatives to create value within the company and manages procurement projects that add value to his/her area of responsibility. The position is responsible, for relationships with key decision makers within the company and identify areas/options for further value creation.

**Key Tasks**:
**Category Management**:

- Develops and ensures the implementation of a category strategy that generates significant business value (e.g. savings, improved payment Key Tasks: terms, increased compliance/sustainability, reduced risk).
- Deploy from market information to categories and market trends to gain competitive advantage and make better business decisions. Identifying market trends within the supplier base (e.g. new potential suppliers) to demonstrate how to successfully leverage the innovation potential within the (sub)category.
- Analyzes and understands the overall costs within the area of responsibility to identify better and/or to develop innovative pricing models (e.g. performance-based or index-based pricing).
- Ensures and is accountable for Bayer processes and systems being reflected within the category strategy.
- Translates the results of category strategies, - initiatives and projects in procurement specifications and "How Docs" and coordinates these together with SSO and external partners and personal relationships with important business partners (internal/external) in order to define joint target agreements, procurement projects (if applicable also by category). comprehensive) and to be the central point of contact for all procurement-related issues for his/her business partners.
- Knows business strategies, goals and demand forecasts, understands and demands the resulting business requirements.
- The job holder is responsible for defining what value procurement can create for the company's stakeholder community and proposing strategic initiatives that align with that defined value.

**Supplier Management**:

- Applies fit-for-purpose supplier management to the entire supply base within his/her responsibility and establishes relationships with assigned strategic partners, key suppliers and selected upstream suppliers as needed.
- Routes suppliers in the direction of internal business stakeholders and establishes relationships with external suppliers to onboard build a common understanding. In particular, the internal stakeholder community shall develop a consistent understanding of the supplier's role and performance (in order to establish a consistent management of suppliers). is responsible for developing a supplier strategy that is consistent with the existing category strategies in order to to achieve strategic goals, e.g. B. the development of innovation potential and the resources of the supplier through joint innovation initiatives, analysis of cost structures and drivers, as well as continuous improvement and process optimization.

**Procurement**:

- Plans and conducts sourcing events for strategic initiatives and tactical ad hoc sourcing projects to gain a competitive advantage, e.g. B. Reduced spending, security of supply and/or time-to-market.
- Depending on the externalization model, he/she prepares and conducts supplier negotiations, places supply orders and conducts debriefings and ensures handover to SSO for content creation in the system and order processing
