**The Position**:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement professional to join Roche Diabetes Care as the Chapter Leader “Global Category Management”. The Category Management Chapter Leader is accountable for driving strategic initiatives, leading the global chapter team, ensuring development and execution of outstanding category strategies, delivering the Category specific savings targets across RDC Global Indirect Procurement as well as other Key-Performance-Indicators (e.g. cash flow, people engagement, customer satisfaction, efficiencies and innovation KPIs).

In addition, the Chapter Leader “Global Category Management” is accountable for the Sourcing & Contracting and - where applicable - operational execution of Procurement Projects of all global initiatives or those servicing the business requirements of Global Functions.

In close collaboration with other procurement functions within Roche Diabetes Care Global Procurement the role ensures effectiveness and compliance of the sourcing & contracting process according to the established business practices.

The Chapter Leader “Global Category Management” acts as business partner for RDC's Global Functions. The role ensures that Business Partnering responsibilities are deployed across the team, following the Business Partnering Concept established.

Moreover the Chapter Leader “Global Category Management” ensures exceptional people management capabilities in order to effectively lead Global Indirect Category Management as well as the assigned Sourcing & Contracting managers and to develop them continuously. This includes selecting, leading and tailored personal and functional development of the team as well as establishing the most effective, agile, and efficient organization.

This role is a leadership role within Indirect Procurement. As such it is expected to contribute to the strategic development of the function. Key to success is being able to closely collaborate with one of the peer functions, i.e. the Chapter Lead “Sourcing & Contracting” responsible for all affiliates sourcing and being able to speak with “one voice” to the customer(s) ensuring high global impact and full alignment with the needs of the business across global functions, regions and local markets.

**Primary responsibilities**:

- Establish effective category governance - Ensure a robust governance structure for the area and categories in scope of role with clear roles and responsibilities to enable business planning and decision-making and support / sponsorship for Procurement activities. Establish a category specific escalation process and ensure issues related to performance, decision making and governance are addressed and resolved in a timely manner. Ensure integration and adoption of agile methodologies applied to Category Management governance.
- Lead Category team(s) - Provide overall leadership and management oversight to ensure highly skilled and effective Category und Supplier Management teams.
- Develop and execute Strategy and Annual Pipeline - Define and implement a common and effective global procurement strategy for the full scope of categories using best practice category and supplier management principles that deliver value in line with the agreed targets and business priorities. Lead the annual bottom-up planning process to enable target delivery.
- Implement category and supplier management - (co-)Lead the Category and Supplier Management teams through the various stages of Roche Diabetes Care’s category and supplier management approach to maximize value delivery and ensure consistency across the categories.
- Build strong working relationships - Develop strong relationships in Procurement, with key Business stakeholders and other functions such as Finance, P&C, and Legal to ensure appropriate inputs and commitment to category strategies and annual pipeline of cost reduction initiatives. Ensure efficient information exchange and process flows within Procurement, including information sharing and alignment between Category and Supplier Management teams.
- Business partnering - Develop strong relationships with the most senior functional business stakeholders ensuring Procurement is heard and elevating the Procurement agenda. Ensure involvement and engagement in functional decision making at the highest level by offering Procurement’s point of view and / or alternative solutions to Business priorities and challenges. Ensure an environment where Procurement can challenge demand and specifications to maximize value from our third-party spend.
- Supplier management and continuous improvement - Develop a supplier base that ensures continuity of supply that meets required quality standards and service levels as well as value chain optimization and delivery of cost reduction.
