Airbus UpNext has the ambition to deliver a disruptive and innovative project to demonstrate the potential of a sustainable power generation source used onboard the aircraft. This demonstrator will have a crucial role in determining the potential of hydrogen as an energy source in aviation.

This position is within the Airbus UpNext subsidiary in Spain and you will contribute to the execution, organisation, operations and performance of the project.

**Mission**

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

- Leading all aircraft operational activities from early in the design process through manufacturing & assembly and into flight test execution.
- Aircraft Design support:

- Supporting Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Assembly (DfA) activities to ensure that manufacturing & assembly aspects are considered early in the design process.
- Reviewing design objectives and translating them into industrial means and jigs & tooling requirements.
- Manufacturing & Assembly:

- Lead "Mise au point" (MAP), Industrial and all supply chain teams to produce and maintain an aircraft conversion plan
- Responsible for planning on time resources/components availability as per the plan
- Accountability for producing technical instructions & work orders for production tasks in manufacturing, flight line and test environments, including special instructions
- Ensure that the as-planned aircraft configuration is embodied on the aircraft per schedule and cost.
- Accountability for aircraft configuration control (knowledge of initial configuration & tracking of modifications embodied)
- Planning and executing the necessary operator training for the novel hydrogen / non-propulsive energy technologies that will be installed on the aircraft.
- Coordination with the logistics teams to ensure parts, tools, kits are received on-time.
- Coordinating all aircraft modification operational activities including third parties when required.
- Providing on-site support during aircraft modification and test execution activities. Being the focal point for issue resolution.
- Flight Test
- Coordinating aircraft activities with the Test team to deploy any means, tools, changes required throughout the ground and flight test campaign
- Ensuring that the aircraft is maintained in flight-worthy conditions by ensuring that all mandated maintenance, inspections and necessary Continued Airworthiness requirements are respected.
- Transversal:

- Contributing to scouting suppliers in the rapid prototyping and novel manufacturing fields
- Playing an active role towards continuous operational efficiency

- What you bring: _

You are able to demonstrate the following skills and competencies:

- Educated to degree level in a Manufacturing Engineering / Operations discipline (or equivalent). Qualification by significant experience will also be considered.
- At least 10-year experience in Manufacturing Engineering / Operations in the aeronautical sector
- Previous experience in managing aircraft in Production, MRO or Operation/Test environments.
- Awareness of Part 21, Part 145 and CAMO regulations and requirements.
- Understanding of Health & Safety practices
- Experience working with international and multicultural teams
- Spanish knowledge will also be heavily valued

The responsibilities and the technical scope of the job might evolve according to the agile working environment of the project, so being flexible is important.

You will work very closely cross-functionally with the Airbus Teams, as well as external stakeholders. You have great collaborative skills, with a good understanding of interface management and practical problem solving.
