**Job Description**:
The Corporate Legal Department of Expeditors is seeking a motivated and well-qualified lawyer to serve as Commercial Contracts Attorney based out of its Madrid office supporting the Director of Global Legal Services. The position will involve assisting with complex legal matters and advising business partners on legal implications and risk exposure involved in commercial transactions across multiple geographies.

The primary day to day responsibilities for the position will be drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial service contracts of varying complexity in support of Expeditors’ business teams across the globe, but with an emphasis on Europe and MAIR (Middle East, Africa, and Indian subcontinent Region). The position will also include drafting and negotiating confidentiality agreements, data privacy agreements, and other ancillary commercial documents.

**Qualifications**:

- 2 - 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Prior experience should have an emphasis on contract drafting and negotiation.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. Full English fluency is an absolute requirement. Almost all communications, both written and verbal, will be conducted in English, and contract drafting is in English. Professional level competency (spoken and written) in another European language (particularly German or French) is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Knowledge of and experience in the logistics industry is a plus, but not required.
- Law degree and active membership in good standing in a Spanish or other European Union member state bar association/licensing authority required.
- Legal residency and permission to work in Spain required.
- Knowledgeable of legal research techniques
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Relevant computer knowledge and experience, with the ability to adapt to and embrace legal process optimization tools and technologies
