- The mission of the Weapon Systems Centre of Competence is to specify, design, develop,

integrate, certify, qualify, maintain into service and ensure the continued airworthiness of:

- Weaponized and militarized aircraft and flying systems by providing the necessary system engineering, HW and SW work and the complete documentation required to achieve the above
- The militarization and weaponization of all current and future Airbus Military program line platforms and any other aircraft or flying system to be militarily upgraded.

A fundamental aspect of this mission is the In-Service Support of the Spanish Combat Fighter
fleet by upgrading and modifying the on-board SW in a specific on Air Base Development
environment led by the Spanish Air Force.

Your mission as Head of CLAEX Support unit is to:

- Be the technical responsible in front to the Spanish Air Forces at CLAEX in upgrade the functionalities and integrate new weapons of the F-18 and EF fleets, by performing the required Avionics & Software development
- Manage the Airbus Defence and Space group (~75 internal & external FTEs) deployed at the CLAEX site for supporting in both software development and ground testing
- Act as main CLAEX interface for the entire Airbus Defence and Space Engineering Community

You will need to lead and/or support the successful execution of the CLAEX Program Work
Packages in close alignment with Customer representatives in a field service representative
mode. In addition to that you will contribute to and support the Center of Competences Key Strategic Initiatives. Upon that you will be an ambassador of the Airbus Engineering Capabilities, Competences and Products and its continuous evolution.

**RESPONSIBILITIES/MAIN TASKS**:

- Technical responsible for the Avionics & SW development and qualification for the functionality upgrades of the Spanish F-18 and EF fleets according to the SAF requirements.
- Technical responsible for the test installation located at the SAF facilities for design, maintenance and upgrade.
- Define and acquire the required technology in the ground test Installations area for the various existing and future programmes.
- Main advisor for the SAF in Software & Functional Integration in the F-18 and EF fleets.
- Design & develop Software Development Tools for the CLAEX Software Development Facility.
- Airbus ambassador on the customer’s premises and promote Airbus Defence and Space Engineering capabilities according to the existing and future needs of the customer.
- Acting with a high level of autonomy once the customer has defined the requirements.
- Leadership, inspiration and development of team members and evolution of ways of working.
- Leadership of teams performing Weapon Systems architecture activities such as transfer of user needs into system requirements, functional decomposition, system function interface and traceability, system design definition, system models, etc
- Representation of the CoC in technical meetings and reporting progress of the programs in dedicated forums.
- Generation and execution of associated (integrated) program Integration plans throughout the development life cycle as well as proactive support of all Operational Planning processes.
- Leadership of the CLAEX internal work packages contributors to ensure On-Time, On-Quality and On Schedule program execution with the support of internal and external partners / suppliers.
- Contribution to CoC R&D / R&T projects.
- Management of associated budget accounts / continuous accounting
- Anticipation of CLAEX resource needs and contribution to a resource plan in alignment with the various domains in the center of competence
- Bid Support in line with the proposal generation processes.
- Creation and Execution of (Cross-) CoC Cooperation Strategies, not only in conjunction with the implementation of System of Systems programs.
- Regular performance of continuous risk and opportunity assessments.
- Regularly reporting of program status, deviations from target achievements as well as dedicated risks / opportunities in line with the agreed reporting structure / rhythm.
- Secure national avionic capability at Torrejón together with the representatives of the national military support center.

This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly.

**SKILLS**
- Degree level in Engineering or equivalent.
- Sound work experience in integration management, systems engineering architectural design or SW development.
- Good knowledge of the state of the art Engineering tools and methodologies (incl. agile, scrum, etc.).
- Good knowledge / skills in Airbus tools (e.g. DDMS or other) and the MS Office / Google tool suite.
