BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- The right person will be technical and able to derive insights from data and anecdotes, and possess at significant business development or program/product management experience in or selling to the Travel industry in EMEA.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
- Fundamentals of cloud computing with ability to go deep enough on key relevant technologies for the industry.
- English and second European language spoken fluently.

Job summary
The Travel industry is one of AWS’ fastest growing sectors, where the global impact of the pandemic and changing consumer behaviours are dramatically revamping the industry in many ways.

AWS is looking for a Business Development specialist who understands the business trends and opportunities affecting the Travel industry (Airlines, Travel Sellers, Travel-Technology, Airports, and Ground Transportation), is knowledgeable of the underlying technology ecosystem, and is passionate and capable of driving market development across the sector for AWS to accelerate the industry digital transformation and journey to the cloud.
The responsibilities will include engaging with and influencing key Travel customers and industry partners across EMEA region. You will define the go-to-market strategy for the industry, and work closely with AWS sales to accelerate growth. You will enable industry solutions, sales plays, and programs to support the creation of significant new business opportunities for AWS. You will enable the AWS sales team with your industry expertise conducting line-of-business conversations and working backwards from business opportunities to solutions. You will work closely with AWS Solutions Architects to develop and promote cloud patterns and solutions for the industry, including innovations in areas like Machine Learning, and Data Analytics. You will attend and speak at industry events.

In short, you will discover trends and shape the conversation in the Travel industry for the future. A keen sense of ownership, drive and scrappiness is a must.

Key job responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the EMEA Business Development team to drive overall AWS market and technical strategy for the Travel industry in EMEA.
- Support the execution on the market development plan and ensure its in line with the AWS strategic direction, in partnership with key internal stakeholders.
- Define and size segments, identify and engage key customers, and identify and engage key partners including ISVs and system integrators.
- Build business development pipeline by engaging with key prospects and partners.
- Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.
- Present business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to expanding our reach in the industry.
- Enable technology for change, facilitating high impact engagements in cloud computing in industry innovation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education - MBA is desired.
- Broad reaching, senior relationships and large network in the vertical.
- Must enjoy working in a collaborative, changing, and dynamic environment.
