Language Services Senior Manager

**WHAT YOU'LL DO**:
As the Language Services Senior Manager, you will be sought as a thought partner, supporting leadership in setting the strategic agenda and defining implementation activities for the business while also providing ad hoc support for priority initiatives across Language Services. You will work closely with leadership to drive coordination and development of the Language Services business. The role can be described in the near-term view as well as the future state:

- ** Language Services transformation/Integration**
- Lead global integration effort along with global and regional leadership including developing a new people model, economic model, vendor strategy, change and comm plan etc.
- Oversee new technology implementation including the establishment of the RMS system for language services requests as well as the new translation self-help tool
- Work with leadership to develop timelines, business objectives and key metrics
- ** Post Integration Business operations**
- Managing international and culturally diverse teams. Ability to coach and develop strong business and people leaders
- Strong customer orientation - supporting a highly diverse set of customer needs. Particularly important to keep a global approach with strong local flavor
- Ability to drive continuous improvement - process, people etc. Identify and enable new capabilities for BCG
- Vendor management - Responsible for implementing quality control and a governance structure with our large translation suppliers; Monitoring spend with core providers as well as smaller, ad-hoc providers

**YOU'RE GOOD AT**:

- Relationship building - Regular meetings/check-ins with key stakeholders and leadership team
- Problem solving and analysis - Includes data analysis as well as ability to tackle problems with little direction and oversight
- Project management skills - Ability to oversee a change and communications plan for rolling out a new translation self-help tool as well as the broader rollout of the Language Services team; In addition, managing and liaising with all the support functions and getting consultant feedback
- Stakeholder management and prioritization - Clear understanding of how to allocate time and resources to best serve our internal stakeholders
- Organized and detail oriented - Can manage multiple initiatives simultaneously across the function and evaluate new tools, vendors and working models under a very critical lens
- Working with global, virtual teams across functions, preferably in a professional services environment; High comfort level working in a continually changing environment

**YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)**:

- 8 - 10 years of research and/or vendor/people management experience
- Master’s degree preferred
- Ability to manage and drive area of accountabilities, contributing to higher level agenda setting
- Ability to lead more complex, broader sub functional teams or projects fully independently and provide direction to others
- Ability to resolve complex issues and non-defined problems autonomously, with full business acumen
- Strong interpersonal skills, credibility
- Ability to influence senior members of the Case Team service function and beyond
- Ability to respect sensitive client, BCG, and people related information as personal and confidential
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced knowledge in Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel

**YOU'LL WORK WITH**:
The Language Services team is a newly centralized function comprised of internal and external language specialists. These language specialists are located globally and offer services including translation and interpretation. The language team leads in each region will report into the Language Services manager who has a global purview. You will work closely with the leadership team to develop and promote the agenda of the Language Services team. You will also work very closely with other internal support functions such as Finance, Marketing and Comms, as well as IT. In addition, you will manage several external vendor relationships, working closely with account managers to monitor the health of the service.

The Language Services team is under the umbrella of the Case Team Services group which is a newly formed team that manages services the case teams utilize.
