Electrical Design Engineer - New Product Development

Are you passionate for electrical designs and do you want to work with equipment used for transport, lifting and installation of our offshore wind turbines?

You’ll be joining our Equipment organization that handles all equipment used for transportation, lifting and assembly of the complete offshore wind turbines. Responsible from when the components leave the production site until it’s assembled and installed offshore.

One of the biggest challenges with our offshore wind turbines is that they consistently increase in size and weight, your role will be to develop and design solutions to support this evolution.

We have a lot of internal and external stakeholders, who are all dependent on our equipment to be delivered on time and in the right quality. For this position, it’s important that you’ll build up a certain knowledge within our equipment and that you build a network amongst colleagues. You will have design the electrical solutions into the very demanding environment it’s used in, and at the same time think cost into your designs, as we all strive to make the most functional and cost-efficient solutions.

How to contribute to our vision

Our New Product Development design team consist of 200+ employees placed in Denmark, Poland, Spain and India.

As Electrical Design Engineer you will be involved in equipment projects and be responsible to implement electrical design within equipment used for transport, lifting and new conceptual development for the different WTG (Wind Turbine Generator) platforms.

Your daily work will be a mix of support equipment projects with electrical competences, supplier interaction and alignment toward electrical colleagues working with-in wind turbines. A part of the position is also to understand the usage of the equipment and the environment it’s used in, by visit our sites to inspect the equipment you’re working with.

Your responsibilities in this position will be:

- Development of low voltage control cabinets
- Design and configurations of low voltage auxiliary system, control cabinets, cables, and sensors
- Seek and challenge designs and actively support continuous development and improvement of processes, documentation, and methods
- Detailed design and creating technical documentation
- Create FAT/SAT protocols
- Technical risk assessments / failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA)
- Familiar with IEC standards (IEC 61439, IEC 60204-1, and IEC 81346)

What you need to make a difference

Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. You need to be self-driven and not afraid to take responsibility. You have a solid theocratical background, but most important is that you can convert it into solid solutions that works in an offshore environment.

We need you to be pro-active and be active in your daily work. You will play a key role in defining our electrical design and your will be supporting colleagues mechanical design in making the best solutions.

The following criteria’s is necessary to fulfill this position:

- BSc or MSc Electrical
- Proven experience in the design of electrical cabinets and electrical systems
- 5+ years of experience
- 3+ years preferred experience within Wind
- or Offshore industry
- Self-driven
