Mission

Support the financing management activities of the Business units assigned, acting in accordance with EDPR’s financial strategy and guidelines, to support the business and ensure full compliance with the local regulations.
The most outstanding are:
i. Be permanently updated about the financing alternatives available and all the finance issues that could impact the business.
ii. Assist in the assessment of the best financing alternatives to determine the adequate capital structure of the projects in both the construction and operation stages, whether short term or long term, including the preparation of financial models to run sensitivities.
iii. Support in the contractual implementation of the selected source of financing (internal or external contracts, internal or external authorizations, etc.).
iv. Ensure the appropriate execution of the financial risks policy.
v. Preparation and reporting of the PF’s covenants.
vi. Preparation and monitoring projects’ cash flow forecasts.
vii. Preparation of internal and external presentations and reporting

Main Accountabilities

1- Ensure the implementation of the EDPR´s financial policy and strategy.
2- Ensure the general financial management and supervision of each assigned business unit.
3- Provide and interpret financial information and anticipate projects’ future cash needs.
4- Propose the sources of funds that best fit each SPV/project, taking into consideration a holistic analysis (cost efficiency, tax, financial risk, etc)
5- Liaise with and support internal stakeholders, with respect to all financial management activities.
6- Liaise with banks and other financing agents to be permanently updated about the best financing alternatives available in the market.
7- Assess the profitability of alternative funding scenarios, using project finance modeling, and recommend the best capital structure for a specific project, in a specific moment in time.
8- Raise project finance at competitive conditions, support all the related activities, namely, T&C discussion, DD, negotiation and execution of the transaction documents, disbursement, and financial completion.
9- Support M&A team when there is a sell-down process of projects/portfolio under external financing.
10- Managed and monitored corporate loans for projects financed by EDPR, according to strategy and conditions of the group.
11- Prepare documents for Management Team approvals.
12- Ensure the operational management of existing financing contracts, namely, fulfillment of all project finance covenants.
13- Execute and monitor FX instruments, aligned with Risk Dept, in order to execute EDPR’s FX risk policy.
14- Monitor insurance and guarantees required by the projects, in accordance with the internal guidelines, and aligned with corporate insurance team.
15- Promote the continuous improvement of processes and information systems involved in finance activities, to both improve Business Unit's efficiency and ensure that company financial systems are robust enough to support current activities and future growth.
16- Analyze competitors and market trends and be permanently updated about all the finance issues that could impact the business.

Required profile

1- ACADEMIC LEVEL

Bachelor’s degree in economics, Finance or Business Administration. Postgraduation or MBA is preferable.

2- REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

2+ years of experience in the areas of Finance (Project finance, corporate finance, project’s capital structure optimization, derivatives, guarantees and other relevant finance activities).

3- SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE

4- LANGUAGES

i. Fluency in English
ii. Spanish is a plus
